There is a terrible storm brewing.

I was watching “The Perfect Storm” the other night, and it dawned on me that what I am seeing is similar to the storm in that movie. There are several fronts that are out there, scavenging for strength and fuel, and when those fronts collide, we’re going to have a disaster on our hands.

I never realized the can of worms that I was opening up by attaching my handle to the Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom murders. I can’t say that I could have anticipated what I have found out there, but I can’t say that it surprises me either. The average white American out there is getting tired of being dumped on and is getting really sick of being made to feel bad for being white.

To be certain, I am not racist, but I am quickly falling into the aforementioned category. I am a white American. I am not a white supremacist, I am not a white nationalist. I am just a white guy who is tired of being told he can’t be proud of who he is.

What I am seeing is like the 1960’s redux, except this time it’s white people who are growing more and more angry with the constant barrage of anti-white sentiment out there. They’re tired of the Al Sharptons and the Jesse Jacksons and the media that covers for them. They’re tired of hearing about the Duke rape case and the police brutality.

I know that the families of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom severely disagree with their children being used as any sort of cause, and I can’t say that I blame them. They lost their children in the most horrible of ways. However, they have now become unsung icons to all of us who are fed up with selective media and special interest groups. As I have said before, as much as interest groups and others deny that race was involved in the murders, it is a claim without merit. From a purely psychological point of view, there isn’t much that can bind five people together to do such an atrocious act, and race and envy are certainly two things that can. As I have also said, if just one of them uttered the word “white” in a derogatory term during or in reference to the crime, then there can be no denying the motivations.

But I digress. The sheer number of views and comments that I have received regarding these crimes, as well as the comments that have been going up all over on other blogs are showing a great deal of anger brewing in America. There is a great deal of frustration that is quickly disintegrating into hate and anger. We’ve seen this before. The only difference is that through political correctness, special interest groups, lawsuits and threats of violence, the majority population is being forced into submission by a minority population.

As much as it bothers me, I’m not surprised that white supremacist groups have taken to this cause (read about it here at the Stop The ACLU site) and are becoming more vocal on these issues. Extremism begets extremists, and the more the majority population is pushed, the more there are going to be white extremists who rear up to counter it. I would like to think that cooler heads will prevail, but I’m not so sure any more. The level of anger out there is reaching dangerous levels. You can feel it in the air. As much as we like to think that things have moved so far forward and that our society is better than it was 40 or 50 years ago, the fact of the matter is that we’re not. As far as I can see, segregation is worse than ever. I think that the only thing that is keeping segregation from spinning way out of control is the government’s attempts to force integration upon us (i.e. affirmative action).

I try not to turn this sort of thing into a race issue, but it’s hard not to. It’s more of a culture issue, but it just so happens that these cultures that are clashing here are predominantly of one race or another. I have known people over the years who have struggled to get away from certain cultures, fearing people of their own race in those cultures. So, no, it’s not all about race… It’s just an unfortunate by-product of the culture.

With that said, I want to touch on the issue of fear, and how fear seems to be what’s driving so much of this anger. Average white people fear black people (with a few exceptions, of course). They fear them when they encounter them on the street, they fear going into black neighborhoods… But not only do they fear for their safety, they also fear the reactions they get from looking or acting white, or glancing the wrong way or at the wrong person.

To complicate matters, average white people now have to fear the media, because they’re out to hang any white person at the first sign of any sort of racial disparity. Just look at Don Imus. Granted, his comments were inappropriate, but his treatment was way out of line compared to the “white-glove” treatment that people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson receive (who often times say much worse things about white people). We are made to be afraid at work, because white people can often times be severely punished for racism, whether real or imaginary, and when it comes to he-said-he-said, most often the white person loses by default.

The list goes on and on. Average white people have been made to fear their own shadow for fear of offending a minority or hurting somebody’s feelings.

As I said, there is a storm brewing. Over the past few years it has been getting worse and worse, and sooner or later things are going to fall apart. I can’t say that I know what the answer is right now. I don’t rightly know if there is an answer to this problem, or if we’re going to have to allow it to run its course. I don’t want to see this war hit the streets, but as things continue to spiral, the problem will grow. White extremists respond to fear with anger. Minority extremists respond to anger with more anger. The media scolds the whites while praising the minorities, and the cycle grows.

It’s two fronts of the same storm gathering up energy and fuel, ready to collide and explode. I’m terrified of what the future holds for us.
