Why is it that every time I post on things going on Madison, I feel as if I am writing about something that went on behind the iron curtain? Every day, the Wisconsin democrats are erring closer and closer to left-wing fascism and are threatening to destroy the people and community of Wisconsin – not to mention the economic and business climate.
And how!
So the State Senate, in a move that is even further left than Governor Doyle, passed a universal health care plan as part of the state budget. As always, I can’t help but to ask what is good about this? I can’t help but to ask how the people and the State of Wisconsin can benefit from this?
Liberal supporters want Wisconsin to be a health care leader; but as usual, they haven’t looked at the bigger picture before making this push. I may be hard on Governor Doyle for being too socialist, but this current health care plan was even questioned by him. Now, if that isn’t an ominous sign, I don’t know what is.
The new health care plan is aimed to provide insurance to nearly all of the uninsured people in Wisconsin. Of course, there is a price, and as Senate democrats put it, the goal is “giving everyone coverage by having everybody paying a share of the costs.”
And how much is this cost? The Democrats’ plan will cost the state taxpayers an additional $15.2 Billion a year. Their plan is to impose a new payroll tax to cover the cost, which means the average worker would have to pay 4% of their social security wages (about $140 a month on average) while the average business owner would pay 10.5% of their social security payroll.
While the Democrats hail this is a massive savings, those of us in the real world question it. Hell, I pay a little over $60 a month for my health insurance. How would increasing my cost to $140 (or more) a month benefit me? I would be losing money on this deal so that uninsured people could benefit from my hard work!
No way! No eff’n way!
Critics of the plan are calling it the biggest tax hike in history, and I not only agree but I raise them the biggest socialist redistribution of wealth I have ever seen.
What seems logical to me along with most other rational people is somehow lost on these liberal twits. This plan will harm more people than it helps and will also drive down the economic environment for the state. Ask yourself what business in its right mind would want to come to Wisconsin and be subjected to such a tax environment?
This is just one more assault to the people of Wisconsin by these legislators. Combine universal health care with the other questionable items in the budget – domestic partner benefits for state workers, $1.25 cigarette tax increase, hospital tax, oil company tax and expansions of already existing state health care programs – and you can’t help but to wonder what is going on in Madison!
I’m wondering how long it will be before we start seeing the parades with the tanks and the missiles and the red stars… Don’t take this joke too lightly though. The distance between Soviet-style government and what is going on in Madison right now is narrowing at an alarming pace. I wonder how long it will be before us right wing nay-sayers are having our doors kicked down by secret police? Ok, that’s a stretch, but you know where I’m going with this.
It’s time to start calling these people out, comrades! These legislators need to be reminded that they are a government of the people, for the people. They were not elected to help the needy minority at the expense of the majority. That is another name for “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.”
Is that what we want? Is that what’s best for this State or this country?
