Politicizing Junk Science and Global Warming

I have purposely stayed on the fringes of the great global warming fiasco for a couple of reasons, the biggest of which being that I had hoped that time would prove to be our best ally and this craze would eventually fizzle out. Of course, it would seem that I am wrong, and now my own Lt. Governor is getting in on the idiocy.

Yes, in a press release issued yesterday, Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton announced her support for the IPCC “consensus” and her dedication to protecting the environment. I guess Ms. Lawton hasn’t been keeping up with the facts. Then again, she did attend Wisconsin’s contribution to the Live Earth shindig in Door County, where she delivered the headline address for the event.

At the event, Lawton announced (emphasis is mine):

Global climate change will remain a permanent and powerful force shaping the economic landscape both here in Wisconsin and worldwide. Wisconsin will meet this challenge by choosing to pursue a long-term strategy to protect our environment, secure our economy, and create good, clean jobs. The science is in. It’s time to recast the challenge of global warming as an opportunity to create jobs and economic growth.”

So, first off, let’s just take the line “The science is in.” I guess all of the holes that have been poked in the science don’t mean anything to the Lt. Governor. Even if you’ve been living in a hole the past few months, you can’t easily claim that you haven’t heard anything contrary to the “rock solid” science of global warming. If this is indeed true, Lawton has no place being in public office as she obviously doesn’t live on this planet. So that leaves option two, which is actually far worse. That she has taken the democrat path of using global warming as a political tool to push the left’s agenda.

As much as I think that democrats such as Lawton live on a different planet, I know it’s not as easy as that. She gave away her hand by making one simple statement:

Global climate change will remain a permanent and powerful force shaping the economic landscape”

That one line, in itself, defines the politicization of global warming.  This “crisis” is something that is being used to achieve power over people – after all, who doesn’t trust the government in a time of crisis?

So that’s the plan. Real science be damned, this is all politics. After all, I guess it only makes sense since the loudest mouths out there on the topic of global warming are politicians and unhinged political hacks like Al Gore. What boggles the mind though, is that so few people question this. If Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi started to preach on medicine or physics, would the reaction still be the same? Why isn’t anybody questioning the legitimacy of these people? They’re not scientists. They don’t even have scientific educational backgrounds. They’re policy wonks with political and law backgrounds; clearly the best choices for speaking on scientific topics.

This is nothing more than science and politics gone bad. As to how anybody can put all of their eggs in a claim made by the “consensus of 600 scientists from around the globe” when there are at least that many if not more who would say otherwise is beyond me. Even more interesting is how anybody can put weight on anything that comes from the UN, which is not known for their logical or legitimate actions these days.

But that doesn’t matter, does it. The democrats (and some republicans) have figured out that panic equates to control, and what greater panic can be induced than a threat to the planet? People like Lt. Governor Lawton have figured out that a crisis can be used to control the economy and exert additional government controls under the guise of “working to protect the planet from ourselves.”

This is getting out of hand, and even though the democrats no longer bother to play their cards to their chests, the people are allowing it to continue. Is the population en masse really being so blinded by the junk science (earth worms, too many trees, cow farts) and the media/celebrity inundation that they no longer recognize such a blatant ruse? Is a holographic Al Gore really more convincing than actual fact?  I’m worried about you people out there.  The truth is right in front of you, and it’s far more convenient than you’re being told.

One of the biggest problems in the future is the fact that our children are being taught this in school as fact, and if they watch the news it is being reported as fact. They won’t know any other truth. My children know exactly how I feel about this issue, and I will continue to tell them.
The whole goal here is higher taxes and government control. It does astonishes me that so many people just fall in line with this hoax, when will people realize it may be a little funny that the leading advocates on this issue are politicians, not scientists?

People fall in line because it is alot easier to be sheep and give away all control of your life to others than to grow up and assume responsibility. To live deliberately is perhaps the biggest challenge in life. I am exceedingly proud of the conservatives that I know. They all live true to themselves yet are unselfish and concerned for the future. They look at “global warming” and see a short term response to an earthly cycle that cannot hope to be charted or predicted. We have become SO arrogant to assume that we not only have impacted planet earth to this extent, but that we can have the hope of having any significant impact on it’s future. One word you will not hear the liberal left use is moderation. And that one word could go a long way to better numerous situations. But no, that isn’t dramatic enough. Has anyone ever bothered to find out what kind of relationship Al Gore had with his mother? I will bet that she was not very attentive, hence him always seeking attention. Then again, this might be applied to the left in general…
