Can the UK Survive?

Posted in Culture/Lifestyle, News, wordpress political blogs tagged , , , at 9:07 pm by Ryan

islam-crescent-r From a Report by a pastor recently visiting Tanzania:

“The goal for Islam is not only to plant mosques on every corner, but to influence the political life of the nation. Radicals hope, through proselytizing and polygamy, to shift the population balance… I remind you that the Koran urges believers to spread Islam by jihad and emigration. Due to the blindness of western governments, the latter method, EMIGRATION/IMMIGRATION, has been spectacularly successful in recent years…”

It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? According to the BBC, Muhammad is the number two name for baby boys in Britain and is soon to grow to overtake the number one slot. While I would like to think that this trend is due to Brits with unique senses of humor, it is not.

Here’s some food for thought: The name first entered the British top 30 names in 2000. In eight years, it has grown to number one, rising 12% last year alone.

This may be an unusual statistic to use, but I think it is very telling as to the situation in the UK. It really makes you stop and think.

Fun With Christmas Shopping

Posted in Culture/Lifestyle, Democrats/Liberals, Rights/Freedom, political correctness tagged , , , , , at 9:50 am by Ryan

Just when you thought it was safe to back to the stores and brave the Christmas crowds…

Don’t feel that your Christmas shopping is stressful enough and you are wondering how you can further complicate things?

Well, you could always try green shopping. But what if you’re tired of green and want to find new ways to complicate your life? What else is out there to make things absurd?

How about “Buying For Equality?” Read the rest of this entry »

A Green Christmas?

Posted in Culture/Lifestyle, Democrats/Liberals, Global Warming/Environmentalism, Media, Minnesota, News, political correctness tagged , , , , , , , at 5:28 pm by Ryan

What’s the most surefire way to ruin the Christmas season for me this year? Is it the music and decorations that go nonstop from November (October in some stores) through January?

No.

Is it the maniacal shoppers and store hype?

No.

What about the politically correct push to turn “Christmas” into “holiday” and “Christmas trees” into “family trees?”

Close, but there is something far more sinister that’s destined to ruin Christmas this year… And that, my friends, is the green craze.

With everything from Barney’s in New York pushing “Green Holiday” and replacing their once standard window nativity scenes with “green scenes,” to Portland promoting “green Christmas trees” (seriously)… Green is invading our holiday, and how!

Following the Big Green Money Trail Part 2

Posted in Culture/Lifestyle, Global Warming/Environmentalism, News, economics tagged , , , , , , , , , at 1:05 pm by Ryan

I am starting to find that Big Green is like one of those “magic eye” puzzles. The closer you look at it, the more you see… But it gives you a splitting headache in the process. However, what you see is not always what you expected to see, and Big Green is no exception to that.

I have studied economics and even entertained the idea of going to school and becoming an economist for a while. I also fancy myself as an amateur investor and have a pretty good grasp of the equity and commodities markets. As such, much of what I find in Big Green makes sense to me - but certailny goes above the heads of the average population, which I fear is one of Big Green’s biggest strengths right now. They are literally banking on the fact that the general public knows nothing about their financial operations and are being hoodwinked by the pop-culture green movement as forced upon them by Al Gore, Hollywood and the media. But let me tell you, things are not always what they seem. Read the rest of this entry »

Fred Thompson Slaps Around Fox News For Bias

Posted in Election/Voting, Media, News, Politics, Republicans/Conservatives, government, policy, wordpress political blogs tagged , , , at 7:40 am by Ryan

Go Fred!

For those who don’t already know, Fred appeared on Fox News Sunday this past weekend, where he took on Chris Wallace and completely slammed Fox for bias against his campaign.

As Fred put it to Wallace:

“…for you to highlight nothing but the negatives in terms of the polls and then put on your own guys who have been predicting for four months, really, that I couldn’t do it, kind of skew things a little bit. There’s a lot of other opinion out there.”

Fred also pointed out that he is running second behind a candidate who has spent more than $50 million dollars more than he has and has been running for a year longer than him - to which I respond: This campaign season has been absolutely absurd and I personally commend Fred for his decision to wait to get his campaign launched. I also commend Fred for focusing on policy instead of politics and refusing to get sucked into the political game. We need Fred. We need to have a president who is not part of the elite political caste in this country. We need a president who puts policy over politics… And Fred is our man to do that.

Following the Big Green Money Trail

Posted in Culture/Lifestyle, Global Warming/Environmentalism, News, economics tagged , , , , , , , at 2:49 pm by Ryan

Al Gore You don’t need to be schooled in economics to understand the Big Green money trail, but it certainly helps. But even without a background in economics and finance, we can still pull together the pieces of the puzzle and gain some understanding as to what is actually going on behind the scenes.

I am beginning to believe that Al Gore is the most dangerous man in America - if not the world. Why? Because he has a massive amount of power and influence, he has the backing of the general public because he plays on their emotions, he has the backing of the media and Hollywood and there is a massive amount of money in play here.

But just how much is Al Gore playing with here? Well, let’s put aside his already well-known exploits (carbon offsets, $100,000 speaking fees, books, movies, Nobel prizes, etc) and look at some of his “other” projects.

Fun With Unions

Posted in Democrats/Liberals, Election/Voting, News, Politics, Rights/Freedom, economics, government, wordpress political blogs tagged , , , , , , , at 10:43 am by Ryan

soviet Labor unions; is there anything more irritating and yet amusing than the childish bickering and actions of unions? Well, maybe the relationship between unions and democrats, but it’s a close second. Which brings me to the subject of today’s annoyance:

Democrats and unions.

Are unions good for America? Hell no. I don’t care what anybody says, unions are nothing but a relic of older days that have grown into nightmarish dinosaurs. Anybody who has ever worked with unions (or as part of a union) knows that nothing good comes of unions. They are harmful and destructive to the companies they occupy, they screw over the best workers and the are detrimental to the economy. With the possible exception of construction unions, they are no good for America.

No political commentary today. It’s a day to be with family and friends and give thanks for the things we have and remember those who sacrifice so much and cannot spend the day with their loved ones. My best to all of you and your families out there.

Enjoy your turkey and pie!

What Weighs More, Money or Environmentalism?

Posted in Culture/Lifestyle, Democrats/Liberals, Global Warming/Environmentalism, News, government, policy tagged , , , , , , , at 2:58 pm by Ryan

We’re about to see just what these people are made of…

From The Politico:

“Finally, environmentalists are, in some ways, victims of their own success… The provision that most worries environmentalists is the Senate’s mandate for a fivefold increase — from about 7 billion to 36 billion gallons per year — by 2022 in the production of renewable fuels… Even parts of the environmental community have soured on the one-time green giant. They argue pollution produced and energy eaten by corn ethanol plants today negates or even outweighs the benefits that come from cleaner car emissions.”

It would seem that the real environmental movement has seen the error here but they are being overrun with the trendy, pop-culture green movement (fueled on by the Democrat’s lust for power). This will be an interesting developing story. Read the rest of this entry »

The Way Of The Left

Posted in Culture/Lifestyle, Democrats/Liberals, News, Politics, Rights/Freedom, government, wordpress political blogs tagged , , , , , , , at 9:41 am by Ryan

I really hope that level-headed Americans are paying very close attention to what’s happening in France right now, because this is the way of the left, and it’s a direction that we’re sliding in.

The BBC gently calls it “legislating from the street” but I call it mob rule. It is the byproduct of socialism and union rule. It is what happens when people believe that they are entitled to things and believe that their entitlements trump all else. What this translates into is “we want things our way or we’re going to be a pain in the ass until we get it.” Sound familiar? This is the rally call of the left right now.
