Fred Thompson Slaps Around Fox News For Bias

Go Fred!

For those who don’t already know, Fred appeared on Fox News Sunday this past weekend, where he took on Chris Wallace and completely slammed Fox for bias against his campaign.

As Fred put it to Wallace:

“…for you to highlight nothing but the negatives in terms of the polls and then put on your own guys who have been predicting for four months, really, that I couldn’t do it, kind of skew things a little bit. There’s a lot of other opinion out there.”

Fred also pointed out that he is running second behind a candidate who has spent more than $50 million dollars more than he has and has been running for a year longer than him – to which I respond: This campaign season has been absolutely absurd and I personally commend Fred for his decision to wait to get his campaign launched. I also commend Fred for focusing on policy instead of politics and refusing to get sucked into the political game. We need Fred. We need to have a president who is not part of the elite political caste in this country. We need a president who puts policy over politics… And Fred is our man to do that.

FOX went negative on Fred near the end of August sometime and it was a night and day change, there was no mistaking what was going on and they’ve been negative ever since…Good for Fred for calling them on it!

Which is also good for us in two respects; FOX knows they will be held to a fair and balanced reporting and Fred will rightly get a deserved break from the nonsense.

I can’t comment on the Fox treatment because I didn’t see it. I am a big fan of Fred’s but not as much a fan of how he’s run his campaign

Fred is a southern gentleman, and to some, that would appear as a weakness rather than an example of taste and decoram. He will win as long as he keeps on being just who he is. People will get tired of the in-fighting and slander. Then they will turn towards the rational and calm waters of Mr. Thompson.

I think that Fred is running his campaign very smart. It may not win him the election, but it wins him respect. He is not playing the game like the other top-tier candidates are, and the fact that he has refused to do things any way but his own and yet he is still in the top-tier is evidence that it may not be such a bad strategy. He’s not playing the typical political game. I liked the fact that when he was questioned as to why he waited to get into the race he answered by saying that it (the presidential race) was getting absurd and he refused to get sucked into it.

In the end though, Fred is the only candidate who has focused on policy above all else. He is the only one who has laid out great (and new) ideas and plans. He is the only one who has chosen to stand above the politics of the game and try to remind people that this isn’t a popularity contest, nor is it a contest to see who can spend the most money and puff out their chests the biggest.

For that, Fred has my vote.
