“Make Believe” Ice Traps Idiots in Arctic

Global Warming strikes again.

It would seem that a group of idiots taking a “climate change” tour up to the arctic to observe the ice melt and epic devastation that global warming has caused up there have run into a problem. The sea ice that was supposed to be disappearing and opening up that new shipping chanel over the top of the world has trapped the Kapitan Khlebnikov, a 24,000hp Russian icebreaker, in more ice than it can break free of.

Global warming indeed! here’s an exerpt from an article about the incident:

I am on the bridge of the massive Russian icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov, and the tension is palpable. We have hit ice – thick ice.

The ice master studies the mountains of white packed around the ship while the 24,000-horsepower diesel engines work at full throttle to open a path. The ship rises slowly onto the barrier of ice, crushes it and tosses aside blocks the size of small cars as if they were ice cubes in a glass. It creeps ahead a few metres, then comes to a halt, its bow firmly wedged in the ice. After doing this for two days, the ship can go no farther.

The ice master confers with the captain, who makes a call to the engine room. The engines are shut down. He turns to those of us watching the drama unfold, and we are shocked by his words: “Now, only nature can help this ship.” We are doomed to drift.

What irony. I am a passenger on one of the most powerful icebreakers in the world, travelling through the Northwest Passage – which is supposed to become almost ice-free in a time of global warming, the next shipping route across the top of the world – and here we are, stuck in the ice, engines shut down, bridge deserted. Only time and tide can free us.

Oh, and for the record, I had to scrape frost from my car’s windshield yesterday morning and had to turn the heat back on in the house as the temperature dropped below freezing. In May. Almost June.

Oh, and I don’t want to hear “climate change” either, because that’s what it does. It changes.

In the next 20 years I will be dead but the kids that are alive now at age 10 to 20 will live in a world of total BS .
The next 50 years will show its not about global warning its the start of the new ice age, and the reason why the big boys want you to think its a warning of the planet IS a few people can control billions of poor people with the ideals of a warning planet.
and we all know that the Pigs can’t get money if the truth is known, so the great lie is told to little kids who think its warning and not the start of a real Ice age, and hell people climate change is normal but no money or control of people in that word NORMAL.

    Hey Arc-
Have you seen this disturbing POS?
    http://www.abc.net.au/science/planetslayer/default.htm
It’s aimed at kids, and tells them when they should die. I ran through it myself, just to see, and according to it, I should have dropped dead when I was 6 ( a few decades ago). And it’s up on the Australian Broadcasting site to boot!

Man have I missed you guys…..
Well Deacon, I took that little quiz and apparently I should have died at 3.1 years old. All of the sudden I feel pretty healthy seeing as how I have beaten the odds so well. Side note, I was in Minn this weekend (sorry Ryan, was too swamped to call, but maybe in August) and I noticed a great service that Alamo was offering me. For only $1.50 per day I could purchase carbon credits to off set my usage of a rental car. Imaging how happy I was that I could drive around all day and not affect the environment in the slightest!

Ya know, if this global warming gets any worse, I just don’t know what I’m going to do! I think the high today topped out in the 60’s again… And I had to bust out a blanket last night because it was too chilly to sleep without one…

Seriously though, this crap has gone from irritating to humorous. When people talk about green this or that I just laugh and remember that they’re tossing their money away on today’s dot com bubble equivalent… And we all know how that turned out!

Personally, I am putting my money into my anti-green machine, and having a heck of a lot more fun doing it too!
