Climate Change?
Here is one of the biggest reasons that I think global warming/climate change is a cosmic joke. I was browsing a single popular mainstream news outlet and found the following list of current headlines. If they all said the same thing, I might be somewhat less skeptical, but instead theyre all over the place.
It is painfully apparant that nobdy has the slightest clue as to whats going on, yet we’re pushing forward and trying to make life-altering policy based on a bunch of nonsense…

Are we listening to anybody?
The American people and the scores of idiots that we have elected to office seem to have their head in the sand. We dont listen to anybody, somehow assuming that we are forging a brave new path, all the while ignoring the fact that there is such a thing as world history from which we can learn from.
Are we really that arrogant?
Oh yeah.
But our arrogance is nothing compared to the egotistical madness of our politicians and bureaucrats who seem to think that no matter what they do, they cant possibly do anything wrong. History be damned, they’re perfect.
And we elected these fools.
But what reall concerns me is when Russians start to point their fingers and call us dumbasses. This again is the problem with not believing in history. Even when the people who have lived through that history speak up, we still refuse to listen, instead assuming that we are bravely doing something new and novel.
How could we be so damned arrogant?
I read the words of Stanislav Mishin, a Russian blogger, and I shudder. I shudder because what he’s saying isn’t a matter of opinion, but because he’s speaking from experience as somebody who has been there and is watching us steam all ahead to that same place.
“It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.”
Got you thinking yet? How about this:
“First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite tv dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blindth the foolish.”
I’m pretty sure that this guy just called us a bunch of dumbasses here. I can’t say I disagree.
The final collapse has come with the election of Barrack Obama/ His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.
Why is it that Russian not only sees this, but understands it, while our media and government keeps telling us that everything is fine and dandy? And since we are, for the most part, absolutely indifferent towards those things we choose not to understand, we just go with what we’re told even though were on a collision course with the side of a mountain.
“Then came Barrack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.”
So far as I can tell, the Russian is now pointing out that Obama is doing the same thing that the Soviet government did back in the communist days. But why bog down “progress” with details, right? So what if it destroyed the Soviet empire, it’s bound to work out just fine for us, right?
But now for the best part:
“Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.”
He even says it! We don’t listen. We ignore history and ignore the warnings of those who lived it. We’re choking to death on our own ego. And he ends with a word of warning with words that sind a shivver down my spine:
“The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.
The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.”
Can we survive this, or will our pride and the outright arrogance of Washington doom us all to a new Soviet-style way of life? In 70 years will we be the ones trying to put our country back together as we reel from the horrors of a government run state?
If were to turn this aournd before stumbling into the abyss, we’re going to have jam history dosed with a harsh sense of reality down the throats of the ignorant masses. I’m not sure how, but I fear that tomorrow depends on it.
Bad news for us bigots
Obama, in yet another questionable move, has once again managed to put us in an awkward position with his nomination of Sotomayor for the Supreme Court position.
See now, this is the problem with Obama. He (and probably his staff to a much greater extent) are conneiving bastards. Don’t think for a minute that anything he does isn’t carefully calculated for maximum Obama benefit. The rest of us can go screw ourselves for all he cares. This is the Obama Presidency, damnit. Any questions?
But I digress. Why has the nomination of Sotomayor bad news for us? Well, there are four factors that can be used to define her:
- Sex
- Race (thanks to CNN for already make a big deal about this one)
- Policy
- Decisions
And if anybody (especially us fringe extremists) speaks up in protest over her nomination, can you guess which factors we will be zinged with? Sure, her policy sucks and her court decisions are largely dubious at best… But that means nothing since we’re just a bunch of sexist, racist bigots. Right?
This is deeply concerning to me, not because I’m uncomfortable with being tagged as a sexist, racist bigot – but because people of weaker will (and most politicians) get all uneasy and mentally challenged when the possibility of being called sexist, racist bigot looms over their heads… And with that in mind, how many people out there think that politicians will be able to overcome their uneaseiness and actually scrutinize Sotomayor for her policy and decisions instead of just blurting out “I’m not a sexist, racist bigot so I vote YES for Sotomayor! Now let’s all hug.”
I’m sorry, but we have got much bigger problems with Sotomayor than her race or sex; but can we actually get past those things to address these legitimate issues? I have my doubts, which is why I am critical of Obama and his efficient use of the racism/sexism smokescreen here. Just as those of us who didn’t vote for Obama due to his policies were blatantly told that we didn’t vote for him because he’s black, we will be put through a ringer for the two-fer we get with Sotomayor being hispanic and female! God forbid we don’t fully embrace her with open arms, because damned if we won’t be pinned as sexist, racist bigots – never mind if we don’t agree with her ideologies at all.
If I thought that Obama was worth the tiny expenditure of energy, I would applaud him for his cunning ingenuity here. He has put people between a rock and a hard place here and is hand wringing over the fact that his minions can start firing “racist! sexist! bigot!” at anybody who might whisper an opposition to his nominee. But since I have better things to do with my energy, I will simply shrug this off as Obama just doing what he does best and go back to being the sexist, racist bigot that I am.
Note to Wisconsin State unions:
I want a piece of you. Bring it on. Seriously. I want somebody in the Wisconsin state employee unions to step up and tell me why it is that you think that you deserve pay raises while the rest of us are being taken off at the knees with the threat of high taxes now being hung over us to help pay for your salaries.
To date, all of you government union workers haven’t had the seeds enough to stand up to somebody like me and explain this issue to me. You hide behind spokespeople and press releases and then cower behind your precious union when challenged on the issues.
So here’s your chance. Stand up and go toe-to-toe with me you self-righteous cowards. Here is your chance to defend yourself against the scrutiny of non-union workers like me. Here’s your chance to explain why you are better than me and how your paychecks and pay raises are more important than mine.
Come on, I’m waiting…
Restraints and drugs? Who owns your kids part 3 [updated 5/20]
The saga over the 13-year old with cancer continues as doctors, ethics advisers and government bureaucrats ponder how to best forcibly treat a 13-year old who refuses treatment. As such, they seem to find physical or chemical restraints to be viable options to get a needle in his arm and administer the chemo.
Oh yeah, and if the parents don’t go along with this, then they will remove the kid from his family and put him with foster parents who will.
Who the hell are these people? How have we allowed things to come to this? This is not “compelling state interest,” this is children being the property of the state.
Update: A news alert just came across my email that the kid and his mother are missing and failed to report to court. I wish I could say that I this was a condemnable act, but I actually think that the mother is in the right here. I may not condone kidnapping, but I don’t believe this is kidnapping. Sooner or later the government needs to be reminded that children are not property to be controlled by bureaucrats… And if that means doing so at the end of a gun, then so be it.
Update: Arrest warrant issued and manhunt underway. I think the taxpayers should raise issue with this since it certainly seems that more is going into this nanny state paternalism issue than real crime. Is this really worth the time and money being put into it? I wish the bureaucrats would get this excited over real issues that impact the community; but sadly this is a vivid example of law enforcement and the criminal justice system turning into the politically correct nanny police while legitimate crime is oftentimes shrugged off. Is there any doubt that this woman will be thrown to the wolves once she’s caught? Remember this the next time a violent criminal gets off with a slap on the wrist and proceeds to re-offend.
Of further interest is the sharp split in public opinion over this. A cursory glance over various newspaper massage boards shows a very polarized split between people who think that it’s the state’s right to usurp parents if they parent’s are perceived to be “ignorant” or “dumb” and people who think the state should stay the hell out of parental affairs just because others might not agree with the routes being pursued.
Let’s face it though, when we distill this issue down to the basic elements, this issue isn’t about right vs. wrong, it’s about perception and public opinion.

“No government, regardless of how well-intentioned it might be, can replace the love and nurture of a parent in the life of a child. Parents care, not because their children are ‘wards’ for whom they are responsible. Parents are willing to brave danger and sacrifice, hardship and heartache to ensure the best for their kids.”

Why we love our elected goons
While the rest of us are taking pay cuts (assuming we’re not laid off yet) and struggling to make ends meet in a rather brutal economic situation, the Ramsey County (MN ) board commissioners are looking at giving themselves a raise.
Yes, these “public servants” (servants??) who pull in $82,400 a year plus cushy government benefits are looking to increase that pay to $84,872 – presumably because it’s hard to live off the paltry $82,400 a year that they currently make.
Public servants my ass. These people are elected theives with no moral compass or sense of reality. They don’t serve the people, they bleed them dry and then demand more.
Perhaps while the rest of us are weighing generic vs. name brand frozen pasta at Walmart, they too are struggling over the filet mingon or the just the lesser sirloin.
Reality? What’s that?
Parents beware, we now know who owns your kids
Remember this, and remember it well:
“The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”
H.L. Mencken
Following up on the issue of the 13-year old and his parents choosing to fore go chemo in lieu of homepathic alternative, a judge has now ruled in favor of modern medicine over parental rights. This means that we now have bureaucrats arbitrarily deciding that they know how to be a better parent than you – based on their own subjective opinions. And the parents have no chance of recourse because the state has qualified immunity on its side.
What really makes me mad, however, is that in an interview with the county prosecutor who challenged the family after receiving a letter of concern from a doctor, it was stated that this was an issue of parental rights vs. compelling state interests. Can somebody please explain to me what that means? Can somebody please explain to me how the forced interference with a family’s lifestyle and decisions is “compelling state interest?”
This is bullshit. Pure and simple.
How did we ever allow things to get to this point? When did our children become wards of the state to be raised by parents so long as they follow the state’s rules on what they consider to be “appropriate” parenting?
Obama picks nanny state psychopath for CDC top spot
If you don’t know anything about who Dr. Thomas Frieden is, you should. And then you should be terrified that Obama has picked him to be the top dog at the CDC.
I’m not sure what Obama’s rationale is for this other than the fact that Frieden is a nanny state superman… But at a time when every aspect of liberty is under sharp attack, picking the man who put New York City’s health in complete lockdown because he felt that it was his personal duty to save every man woman and child from themselves is an absolutely terrifying move.
Given the way the Frieden ran New York as the health czar, I’m going to to make a prediction right now: in the coming months and years we will see the CDC become much more active in this country and much more involved in our personal and private lives.

It’s time to take the princess down
All politics aside, princess Nancy Pelosi is bad news. She’s wicked nasty and, so far as I can tell, is indeed a soulless ice cube. Yeah fine, I don’t care for her political views, and I have indeed been critical of the the direction she intends to take the country; but over the years I have been far more critical of the way she wields her power and the fact that she is a vicious bitch.
So imagine my surprise when an articlepopped up on US News and World Report that laid the claim that Pelosi shouldn’t be treated any differently than anybody else when it comes to the CIA interrogation fiasco. She may think she’s a princess and “above it all,” but she’s still just another liar politician who must atone for her sins now that she’s been caught in her lie.
But will she? Not just no, but hell no. She continues to think that she’s above it all and she somehow believes that others should believe that as well. She is firmly standing on the platform of “don’t believe your own eyes, believe what I tell you.” Shrewd. And while I’m sure there are some with their heads deep enough in the sand who will blindly show their loyalty to the princess and stand with her, most of the American public, tired of politicians spinning lies all the time, aren’t going to buy it. As evidenced by US News – a publication hardly known for their rightwing leanings – the overall population expects to see Pelosi go down.
Yes, congrats princess, you were the first woman Speaker… But you sank your own ship by believing that you were above it all and largely untouchable. And I can’t say that I’m all that torn up about it.
The FDA proves it’s worthlessness. Again.
I’m not a fan of the FDA. At all. I think they are worthless bureaucrats who are so tied up in red tape, archaic policy and power issues that they are more of a hinderance than anything else where health, food and medicine are concerned. Just go to CEI and look up FDA to see how they kill people with their red tape and bureaucratic mazes.
But just to prove how worthless they are, they are now going after Cheerios – not because their claims of lowering cholesterol levels aren’t true – but because they don’t like the wording of their claims. Actually, it’s not that they don’t like the wording so much as they claim the wording makes Cheerios a drug, not a food.
Really?
Come on, who comes up with this crap? Have they nothing better to do than to scrutinize Cheerios advertising and deciding that these particular words belong on medication, not cereal? This is just another example of the government bureaucracy gone mad.
